Rio – The State Government, through the Sports Superintendence of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Suderj), held a ceremony, last Tuesday (26), at the Suderj Memories Museum, to honor some sports photographers for their contribution in documenting and preserving the history of sport, both local and worldwide.

Among those honored was Reginaldo Pimenta, photographer THE DAY. The professional, who has worked as a photographic reporter for 15 years, highlighted the feeling and importance of having his work recognized by the organization.

“I’m happy that an institution like Suderj recognizes our work. I’m very proud to be there on behalf of the photographer class, even more so in a space that paid tribute to so many stars, such as Zico, Roberto Dinamite, Adriano, Pelé, Marta. I was very honored to be there, especially to represent our class”, he declared.

During the event, photographers were praised for their ability to capture the essence and emotion of sporting competitions, immortalizing moments that inspire and move the public. Dr. Renato de Paula, president of Suderj, expressed deep gratitude to the sports photographers, highlighting their importance as true artists.

In addition to sports photographers, the meeting also paid tribute to nurses. Suderj reinforced the importance of both groups in society, highlighting their fundamental role in different aspects of daily life, whether in preserving sporting memory or caring for the population’s health.
