The Frente e Verso program this Friday, the 1st, is direct from Forquetinha, from the residence of historian and professor Waldemar Richter. The trajectory of Waldemar Richter and the 50 books telling the story of hundreds of traditionalist families, of German origin who settled in the region, are part of the program for 200 years of German Immigration in Brazil.
Waldemar Richter was born in Neu Deutschland (New Germany) today Araguari. “Neu Deutschland exists only in people’s memories.” Father of four children, he trained as a history and geography teacher. According to Richter, his interest in writing emerged in 1982, as a hobby. He began his first research and data collection and currently has 50 books written, as well as a Hunsrik dictionary, a dialect spoken by German immigrants. “I think this German dictionary will have a great impact”, he highlights.
The special program launches on the radio the partnership project with Richter Gruppe, “Neue Heimat” which, over the course of ten months, will show through stories, reports and interviews, recounting the Germanic influence in the Taquari Valley and RS.
Project preparation
In addition to rescuing and materializing the knowledge of Waldemar Ricther and other people who will participate, there is something interesting, according to the CEO of Richter Gruppe, José Ricther. 200 years have passed and the dialect remains today. “Many things that are preserved here are not as preserved in Germany. This work is a rescue for Germans of other generations, many modifications and that old issue of preservation here, no longer exists there”, he highlights.
Juca remembers that as a child, when he attended parties, he wore typical German costumes. “I didn’t like it, but I did,” he jokes. And she adds, “having a father like Waldemar is sensational”.
