The University of São Paulo (USP) is offering a wide range of books and magazines for free and in various areas of study, all content available digitally.
These books and magazines cover diverse fields such as engineering, health, education, tourism, architecture and even special thematic collections, and can be easily downloaded through online platforms.

There are several USP platforms that offer books and magazines for free download.
So what is available at USP for free download?
In addition to the more than 900 books available, there are also more than 7,400 international publications from 60 countries, including newspapers and magazines that cover topics such as gastronomy, arts, science, sports and entertainment.
Academic journals from various departments at USP are also accessible free of charge. The digital archive encompasses content from 16 major academic publishers and 42 publishing houses.
These platforms are an excellent source of resources for academics and anyone interested in a wide range of areas of study.
Therefore, an advantage of the digital world is the ease of access to knowledge from different disciplines, without the need to travel.

USP Open Books Portal

Created in March 2016, the USP Open Books Portal system is the same one used and developed by the Universities of Stanford, in the United States, and Simon Fraser, in Canada, and is currently under the management of the Digital Libraries and Collections Agency (A B C D).
USP has published more than 900 titles, making works available that users can download in full. These works cover a variety of subjects such as engineering, health, architecture, education and tourism.

USP Magazine Portal

Since 2008, it has brought together a digital library of hundreds of magazines published by the different teaching and research units that are part of the University.
All magazines, then, are open and contain the full text of published articles. Completing 15 years, it has great numbers: 201 journal titles, around 25 million hits and more than 20 million article downloads, according to 2021 data.
Maintained by the team at USP’s Digital Libraries and Collections Agency (ABCD), it brings publications from different areas of knowledge, such as health sciences, exact sciences, humanities, linguistics, as well as literature and, finally, arts. Click here to access the platform.
