MIguel Oliveira finished the Portuguese Grand Prix in 9th position. Far from the podium and victory, the Portuguese driver from Trackhouse Racing, however, did not leave the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve empty-handed.

On the Wednesday before the race at the Portimão circuit, Hyundai offered an IONIQ 5 N to Miguel Oliveira, in a ceremony that took place precisely at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Connected to the brand since 2018, the MotoGP racer can now drive Hyundai’s first high-performance electric car. This model shares the same platform as the IONIQ 5, but is longer and wider, and is equipped with an 84 kWh electric battery, which provides 448 autonomy (WLTP cycle).

As for the electric motors, the IONIQ 5 N has two per axle and in boost mode there are 650 hp available – boost mode gives an increase in power for around 10 seconds. When this is not activated, the IONIQ 5 has 608 hp (226 hp + 383 hp). Hyundai announces a top speed of 260 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.

Furthermore, one of the new features of this Hyundai tram is the gear shifts. Equipped with an N e-shift, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N has a virtual eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This simulates the transitions of relationships, which can even be controlled manually. As? By controlling the torque output of the electric motors. As the brand advances, the IONIQ 5 N can even simulate the jolt caused by gear changes.

In addition to this, this model that can now be driven daily by Miguel Oliveira also has a function called N Active Sound +, which simulates the noise of a combustion engine.
