In 2024, variable rate housing loans do not pay an early repayment commission. If you have some savings on the side, and a housing loan with a variable rate, It could be a good time to pay off the capital owed on your credit“, explains DECO PROteste.

How much do you normally pay?

As a rule, it should be noted, the “commission to be paid to the bank for early repayment is 0.5% for housing loans with variable rates, i.e. five euros for every 1,000 euros repaid“.

However, we fixed rate home loans, this commission is 2%, i.e. 20 euros for every 1,000 euros repaid.

You should also know that there are no minimum amounts for the amortization of housing credit: “Amortization can be partialin the amount available, or total.”

“However, the greater the amount to be repaid, the lower the interest amount to be paid and, consequently, the lower the monthly installment to be paid to the bank.“, it can be read.
