BdP warns of entity not authorized to grant or intermediate credit

O Banco de Portugal (BdP) warned, this Wednesday, that the supposed entity that operates under the commercial name ‘Instituição Financeira Portugal’, through the social network Facebook with the link ‘https://www.facebook.com/profile. php?id=100083373159043’, it is not authorized to have activity.

The entity “is not authorized to carry out, in Portugal, any financial activity reserved for institutions subject to the supervision of Banco de Portugalnamely, the granting of credit, credit intermediation and the provision of consultancy services in relation to credit contracts”, says the supervisor, in a statement.

It should be remembered that the activity of granting credit and the activities of credit intermediation and provision of consultancy services in relation to credit contracts “are reserved to entities authorized to carry them out”, in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The lists of entities authorized to grant credit, act as credit intermediaries and provide consultancy services in relation to credit contracts can be consulted on the Banco de Portugal website, at www.bportugal.pt, and on the Bank Customer Portal, at https://clientebancario.bportugal.pt.
