TJust as there are plant species capable of absorbing moisture, there are others that help eliminate unpleasant odors. This means they are perfect for living in rooms like the kitchen. Radek Babicek, plant expert, cited in Women & Home, listed five plants that purify the air and are ideal for this part of the house.

Plants that help eliminate unpleasant smells in the kitchen:

  • Ivy. “It is one of the best for helping to reduce indoor air pollutants, as well as mold and bacteria”;
  • Spider plant (chlorophytum comosum). “They are great for eliminating bad odors, smoke and pollutants from your kitchen environment”;
  • Saint George’s Sword (dracaena trifasciata). It’s a toxic plant for cats, but they’re an amazing addition to any kitchen;
  • Aloe vera. It can work wonders in the kitchen and, in addition, the gel inside the leaves helps when you cut or burn your skin;
  • Aspidistra elatior. “It can withstand more than the average houseplant, including low light, temperature fluctuations and infrequent watering.”
