Pinto Basto, a Transport Management, Ship Agency, Regular Lines and P&I Clubs (protection and indemnity) services company, received and managed the ship MV Klara that left Asia bound for Sines with a large reactor.

The ship received and managed by Pinto Basto transported, among other cargo, a large reactor for Repsol Polímeros’ new linear polyethylene factory.

This reactor will be responsible for developing new types of polymers (plastics) for the food and pharmaceutical industries, explains the company.

“Pinto Basto is paying special attention to project cargo operations developed by the national industry”, says the shipping company, which adds that “investments in this area, which take place both in infrastructure and in the energy industry, among others, require complex logistical operations”.

The Transport, Ship Agency company reveals that it has been part of the solution in the operationalization of this type of projects, being present with customers from the genesis of the project in a consultancy phase, to the delivery of the units to the factory and monitoring in the subsequent phase to installation.

These services are only possible due to the interconnection that exists between the various units of the Pinto Basto Group, such as the special cargo unit, shipping agency, project and containerized cargo operations, as well as specialization in the insurance area, thus materializing the integrated and complete implementation of operations.

Pinto Basto, with a history spanning more than two centuries, began with tobacco contracts, went through the porcelain industries, and now it is in transport that “it finds its line of continuity”.

The Pinto Basto Group, which has always been a pioneer in the activities in which it has been involved, began its internationalization in 2002 by establishing itself in Angola, and is now consolidating its new challenge by opening new markets.
