As Vogue said, influencer and businesswoman Mariana Saad, 28, says “yes” to actor Rômulo Arantes Neto, 36, this Saturday (16.03), in Bahia. The couple celebrates their union at Txai Resorts, located in Itacaré, with Preta Gil singing during the bride’s entrance.
The choice of Bahia, which they consider a place of refuge and connection with nature, was not for nothing: the couple got engaged in September 2023, also in Itacaré. “I woke up thinking we would celebrate our anniversary, but he called me early to watch the sunrise and asked me. It was drop dead gorgeous!”, recalls Mari, who has been with the actor for just over two years. It was during her trip to Bahia, in fact, that their first interaction took place (even online). Rômulo reacted to a post of hers on Instagram. “Months later, we arranged a meeting and we haven’t been apart since. It was meant to be.”
For this big day, the bride and groom brought together 200 guests, including Marianas Goldfarb and Gonzalez, who were at the businesswoman’s bachelorette party, and influencers such as Luiza Sobral and Camila Coutinho.
Breaking “rules”, the couple chose not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen. “We didn’t follow this protocol. It was a quick and right decision in our hearts, because everyone is important in different ways in our lives”, said Mari in an exclusive chat with Vogue. “We chose the people we love to celebrate this special day. You can’t go wrong with family, good friends and Bahia”, she adds.
The wedding was prepared in about 2 and a half months. Mari confesses that she and Rômulo tend to leave everything to the “chaos of 45 in the second half”, so much so that they haven’t yet decided what their honeymoon destination will be. “We have several destinations in mind. Who knows, perhaps going back to Europe?”, she comments.
One of the special guests at the party is Preta Gil, who sings at the bride’s entrance during the ceremony. “It was a gift from her and I felt very special. I couldn’t believe it! Apart from the personal part, I’m really a huge fan of this wonderful woman”, says Mari, enthusiastically. In addition to the singer, the Bahian band Negra Cor, led by vocalist Adelmo Case, a friend of the couple, Rio de Janeiro DJ Bernardo Campos, will perform at the event. Regarding the decoration, Mari says that she preferred to take advantage of Bahia’s natural scenery. “Txai is basically a coconut farm, everything is very beautiful. The decor is tropical.”
The bride’s dress is designed by Gaucho Carlos Bacchi. “He managed to translate my essence and bring minimalism in a sophisticated and super powerful way. Carlos is an artist.” This time, she chose not to do her own beauty to feel cared for and be able to relax and called her longtime friend Léo Almeida. “He knows my face like no one else and did a light beauty, without exaggerations, highlighting the strengths of my face”, says the businesswoman, who is preparing to launch her makeup brand in the second half of this year.
“What I can say now is that everything that has been developed so far has a lot of me in every detail and the quality will be undeniable. Since I also saw myself as an entrepreneur, I wanted to have something where I could put my heart and my essence and, still, be attentive to the needs of consumers and those who have accompanied me on this 8-year journey.”
Rômulo decided to change his look to celebrate his marriage and appeared without a beard or mustache the week before the wedding. The transformation took place in Rio de Janeiro at the hands of barber Lucas Cavalcanti, known as Caval, and was a way of paying homage to the actor’s early relationship with the influencer, when he went beardless to please his beloved during a trip to Europe. .
