The couple said they had already spent around R$2,000 on tickets and accommodation. After the band canceled the show, they asked for a refund for everything, but they still lost R$500 due to the ticket administration fee and the deadline to cancel the accommodation had already passed. “The hotel didn’t want to refund everything, so we made an agreement and they refunded half.”

Even with the loss of money, Raul doesn’t say he’s upset with the band. Despite this, Rafaela said that they were more careful this year. “It happened [a chateação]but we left it a month away to buy tickets for this year”, she says, who didn’t buy tickets this year due to the high price.

The happiness of seeing Blink-182 for the first time contrasts with the frustration of Paramore’s cancellation, the couple lamented. But now they will be able to make the trip back, as they won’t need to stay until Saturday (23) to see the band. “We just took it today for a day trip. Leaving Blink, we go back to Curitiba”, reports Rafaela.

A year later, the couple considers that now it will be “more special”: newlyweds, they say they played Blink-182 at their wedding, in December 2023. “I entered the wedding with a First Date”, jokes Raul.

For them, the loss was only on the ticket, as they also canceled their trip to Lolla after the band’s cancellation. “Like it or not, there was a refund, but the disappointment remains. The loss, in itself, is not even material, it is more of a fan issue.”
