Last Thursday (21), Conor McGregor saw his newest adventure as an actor officially conclude with the release of the new version of the film ‘Road House’ – a classic from the 80s that in Brazil was called ‘Matador de Aluguel’ ‘. Playing the plot’s antagonist called ‘Knox’, the former UFC featherweight (66 kg) and lightweight (70 kg) champion had his performance on the big screen praised. Excited about the new role, ‘Notorious’ opened the door to new future roles and cited two Hollywood stars as inspiration: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.
In a recent interview with the program ‘The MMA Hour’, the Irishman countered some criticism from fans who needled him by saying that the character played in the film has many similarities with his personality, in an attempt to ironize his performance. Satisfied with his performance, McGregor highlighted that he received numerous compliments from Road House directors and producers during filming. Enthusiastic, the MMA fighter assured that he is a versatile actor capable of playing different roles in the future.
“People think I was playing myself – they (directors) were guiding me and I gave them what they asked for. They are very happy with what they got. I gave them what they asked for and added my own special touch. I I am who I am, a ‘show business’. We have to talk (me and UFC). Hollywood is now aligned. In fact, I can play multiple roles. Think about the number of films I can make. There’s Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and all these guys. They all have great movies made around them. Think about the movies you can make around me. They could be written, prioritizing me. I really feel like I can play any role,” said Conor.
