Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce forces daughter to choose a side

Hollywood’s most famous couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, have been working out the details of one of the most famous celebrity divorces since 2016.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met in 2004 while playing “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, Pitt was married at the time to Jennifer Aniston, one of the stars of the Friends series, he later divorced so he could marry Jolie. The couple was monitored very closely from the beginning of their relationship and nothing was expected when they publicly discussed the topic of “divorce” between them. Throughout this relationship, the couple adopted 22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax and 19-year-old Zahara. They also had biological children, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.

The divorce has had some setbacks from the beginning, first with custody of the children and then all of the couple’s assets. In 2021, it was the judge’s decision that the children would stay with their mother until they reached the age of majority. Currently, only 3 of them live with the actress. Two years later, the judge was removed from the case after being accused of bias and corruption. It was then that daughter Shiloh decided to go live with her father.

It was in the North American magazine In Touch, due to a private source, that the decision was revealed to the public. The couple lives close to each other, they are practically neighbors in Los Feliz, California and the source claims that “Shiloh can go to her mother’s house and see her brothers whenever she wants”. According to the source, Shiloh and her mother have a healthy relationship but the daughter wants a change of scenery: “Obviously Angelina wasn’t happy but she knows that Shiloh is a woman and knows how to make her own decisions.” On the other hand, the actor was delighted with his daughter coming to his home, she is the first and only one to live with her father since the beginning of the divorce process.

Shiloh’s decision came at a complicated time in the divorce for Jolie, the actress had just “won” the battle of the French winery, Chateau Miraval. A Winery that houses a 35-room mansion purchased by the couple in 2008, where they held their own wedding and runs an extremely profitable wine business. The actress sold the actor’s share without consulting him, Pitt brought the case to court and claimed that Jolie could not have done it without consulting him. The court decided to find the actress in favor due to “lack of evidence”.

The actress’ lawyer, Paul Murphy, sent a statement to Entertainment Tonight stating that the judge rejected the actor’s allegations because they have no legal basis. “Mr. Pitt’s lawsuit was never about a business dispute; rather it is about her attempts to cover up serious abuses, and we are pleased that the judge has rejected most of the allegations (…) Angelina harbors no ill intentions against Mr. Pitt, and now hopes that he will release her from this process ( …) and join her in helping the family get through this in private.”
