(…) It was almost like a non-verbal agreement like: ok, he’s going to work and so am I, but I’ll stay here.” She also recalled that the actor decided to step away from the big screen in 2018 after the birth of his second daughter and remained that way until 2021. The actress praised her husband’s work stating “He went and did his job. Turns out he’s really good at what he does. When he finished he went home”.

Mendes has always been proud of Gosling’s work and demonstrates it on social media whenever possible. After the success of Barbie, the actress said “I’m very proud to be this Ken’s Barbie”. After the interviewer commented that the actress’ last performance was in 2014, the actress said that “I wanted to be at home with my children and luckily my other businesses allowed me to do that, instead of acting”. Since then, Mendes has been dubbing for an ABC children’s series and will launch his first picture book in September, inspired by his daughters: “Desi, Mami and the Endless Worries”.
