Bebeto, four-time national team champion, pays condominium debt and takes apartment in Barra from public auction | TV & Celebrities

The former player Bebeto60 years old, four-time champion for the Brazilian team, and his wife, Denise de Andrade Gama de Oliveira, paid this Monday (1st) the debt of R$ 504,262.02 referring to an apartment in the Santa Mônica Special Building condominium, in Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone of Rio.

The information was confirmed by gshow with the auctioneer’s office, and with the condominium’s lawyer, who also informed that the amount paid pays off the condominium debts of the unit 601 and 602also belonging to the couple, and also the target of legal action since 2020.

However, lawyer Rafael Giro, from the firm Müller, Novaes, Giro & Machado Advogados, explained that the same units are the target of a another process, from 2017, which became something of an agreement.

“They had other debts before, they made an agreement, but they only paid the first installment. So, we will continue to charge them in court”, explained Giro, who represents Santa Mônica Special.

The action has been in progress since 2020, by the 4th Civil Court of Barra da Tijuca, and charges the amount of R$ 504,262.02 relating to condominium, IPTU and fire tax – all plus interest and late payment fine. Still according to the document, the condominium fee for the property had not been paid since May 2019.

In addition to the debts for the apartments in the Santa Mônica Special Building condominium, Bebeto and his wife have already been taken to court for other condominium debts.

They have already been notified of debts in the Marina Barrabela building, also in Barra da Tijuca – which have been paid -, in the Santa Mônica Condominium Club, with which an agreement was made to settle a debt of more than R$78 thousand, and also was the target of two active debt actions filed by the City of Mangaratiba, in the Costa Verde region of Rio de Janeiro.

Bebeto’s wife, Denise, went so far as to say that the debts existed due to bad faith on the part of an administrator who was supposed to make payments for the properties, but who let the debts accumulate.

“As we travel a lot, we had a person who resolved all this for us. But later we discovered that she didn’t make the payments resulting in all this. What we could, we made an agreement, we paid in installments and paid the debts. It was never bad faith. We would never risk losing an asset that Bebeto took his whole life to build”, he said in 2020 to g1.
