When talking about his first contacts with the world of comics, Bruce revealed some of his favorite heroes. “In the store where I went to eat candy so I wouldn’t focus on school, there were comic books you could buy. There was Superman, who I didn’t understand, ‘What’s the story here? He can do anything, where’s the drama in that? ?’ I liked the Silver Surfer, because he was difficult, and I was a teenager, so in a permanent state of irritation, and this was the Silver Surfer, and he looked cool and so angry, and I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s me! ‘ I loved Doctor Strange, because he could control everything, while I couldn’t control anything, and for all these reasons I loved him, and the Human Torch, because who wouldn’t want to fly and set everything on fire? That was it for me. I found these comic books, they were hard to get, because it was the seventies, England had just had color television, so most of my life was in black and white until then,” he said.

In addition to a few American comics, Bruce read British comics, such as Doctor Who, and when he discovered the world of music, they lost space. “There was a whole world of imagination that music offered,” said the singer, who only came into contact with comics again when he wrote the film “Chemical Wedding”, whose director suggested he read “Watchmen”, and took him back to comics that he read as a teenager.
