Another development in the case of Regina Lemos Gonçalves, a socialite who, according to family and friends, was held in private prison by her partner, José Marcos Chaves Ribeiro, in the Chopin Building, in Rio de Janeiro. This Friday (26/4), judge Antônio Carlos Amado, from the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Judiciary of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PJERJ), revoked the decision that put an end to the protective measure allowing José Marcos to approach the 88 year old woman.
This Thursday (25/4), judge Valéria Dacheux, from the 6th Chamber of Private Law, in Rio de Janeiro, determined that Regina’s guardianship would be with José Marcos Chaves Ribeiro. This verdict also revoked the protective measure requiring the partner to stay 250 meters away from the socialite.
Judge Antônio Carlos Amado highlighted in the determination published this Friday afternoon (26/4): “In view of the appellant’s request and the urgency due to the conflict of decisions, and in view of the validity of the protective measures granted by this judge, since 02/27/2024, including the removal from home of Mr. José Marcos Chaves Ribeiro.”
In the recent decision, judge Antônio Carlos Amado determines that “the illustrious judge Valéria Dacheux, from the 6th Chamber of Private Law, is to be informed so that the appropriate measures can be taken”.
In conversation with Coluna Claudia Meireles, the spokesperson for Regina Lemos Gonçalves’ family, João Chamarelli, highlights that judge Antônio Carlos Amado’s determination to reestablish the protective measure is a victory. “Therefore, José Marcos cannot get close to her, he has to stay 250 meters away from Regina”, reinforced the businessman and family representative.
