Singer Madonna arrived this Monday morning (29) in Rio de Janeiro for the show she will perform at Copacabana Beach next Saturday (4) and which is expected to attract more than 1.5 million people. The queen of pop arrived at Tom Jobim International Airport, at 10:06 am, in a private aircraft.

Madonna descended into a hangar in a support area that has access for vehicles. From there, the singer leaves straight from the airport.

The flight came from Mexico City, the location of the last show of “The Celebration Tour”. The performance on Copacabana Beach will be the end of the tour that celebrates the star’s 40-year career.

With a team and structure worthy of a queen, singer Madonna brings a team of 200 people and 270 tons of equipment, which began arriving in Rio this Sunday (28). Two of the three planes bringing the material have already landed at the Galeão Airport cargo terminal.

The entire apparatus will be taken to Copacabana, in the South Zone of the city, in 30 trucks. The stage for the pop star’s last performance on the Celebration Tour is being set up at the venue, on Saturday (4).

  • 200 team members will occupy 90 rooms in the hotel where they will be staying;
  • 270 tons of equipment arrive in 3 cargo planes;
  • 3 trucks take part of the equipment to the hotel, where 3 gyms will be set up;
  • 27 trucks will go straight to the stage set up on Copacabana Beach;
  • stage has 24 meters in front and 821 square meters in area, twice the size of those set up so far on the tour;
  • in addition to the main structure, the singer will circulate through three catwalks and 1 elevator;
  • for the show, there will be 45 wardrobe trunks inside, for example, there are 40 boxing gloves for one of the choreographies.

This is the 4th time that Madonna has performed in Brazil. The last one was 12 years ago. She has already presented the country with ‘The Girlie Show’ tour in 1993, the ‘Sticky and Sweet Tour’ in 2008 and ‘MDNA’ in 2012.

This time, the performance on the sands of Copacabana will be the singer’s only one in all of South America, and Brazilian fans will be able to see up close – whether on the sands of the beach or in the comfort of home – the pop diva perform the biggest hits of her time. extensive career.

The performance in Rio will be the end of the world tour and the biggest show of the artist’s career. North American DJ Diplo was announced as a special guest.

Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the state government gave details, this Thursday (25), of the operational plan for the mega event. The public forecast has increased, and authorities expect 1.5 million people on the sands of Copacabana — before it was 1 million.

The structure is being assembled in front of Copacabana Palace, facing Leme. Organizers estimate that behind the stage and the service area, towards station 6, it will be less crowded.

There will be DJs playing from 7pm. At 8pm, DJ Diplo takes over. Madonna will take the stage at 9:45 pm. the show should end at 11:45 pm — if the queen doesn’t want to drag it out.
