According to the director of the Health Products Area of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), Daniel Pereira, Anvisa is negotiating with the Ministry of Health the possibility of self-tests for dengue. The statement was made in an interview with Mílton Jung and Cássia Godoy in Jornal da CBN.
He stated that, currently, there are two tests available: laboratory and rapid. Regarding self-testing, they depend “on a policy linked to its use”, which is why the conversation with the government needs to happen first. Only then can these products enter circulation on the market.

Also according to the director, Anvisa is in contact with Butantan and other vaccine suppliers, “providing all the necessary assistance so that we can safely, quality and effectively bring the best products and the best vaccines to combat this disease” . Daniel says that it is a time to “evaluate” all requests in a “judicious” way. Therefore, it is not possible to establish a deadline for the release of more vaccines.
