UFSCar (Federal University of São Carlos) is looking for volunteers for research related to persistent symptoms of covid-19. The target audience is people over 40 years of age, who had the disease at least three months ago and are still feeling the effects of it.

The experiment will focus on full-body electrical stimulation, along with physical exercise. According to Lêda Carvalho, a master’s student in Physiotherapy at the university, those interested will be divided into two groups.

“A group will perform full-body electrostimulation, it is still relatively new in our health field, so it works like a piece of clothing that the patient wears, adjusted to the patient’s body, and we can send electrical stimuli to the muscle of the patient. patient. This means that there is a greater activation associated when he does the exercise together. The other group will just do the exercise”, she said, in an interview with EPTV Central.

The importance of the research is to encourage more forms of rehabilitation for patients who have had Covid and treat symptoms that are still persistent.

Interested parties should contact us by phone (79) 99974-7908 or by email: [email protected]. There is no number of volunteers, as the idea is to involve as many people as possible.
