With a significant daily increase in cases of dengue, covid, influenza and flu, the Caixa dos Servidores Health Assistance Fund (Cassems) of Campo Grande has prepared teams from health care units with training for treatment against these diseases. viral.

The director of health care at Cassems, Maria Auxiliadora Budib, talks about the importance of training to assist beneficiaries with suspected diseases, considering that there has currently been an increase of almost 100% in dengue notifications compared to last year.

“We have a wide network of doctors serving all lines of care, especially in Emergency Care. We have 10 Emergency Rooms, in 10 hospitals, in addition to Medical Centers and the objective is to guide what to do with the patient who arrives with suspected dengue and this training aims to standardize and carry out the intervention as early as possible so that the Our patient’s condition does not get worse”, he explained during dengue management training.

According to the infectious disease doctor at Cassems Lis Regina Calixto Alves Renno (CRM 7290MS), despite being very similar, the symptoms can differ in small details.

“Generally, the symptoms of dengue are fever, arthralgia, headache and pain behind the eyes. Covid, on the other hand, is accompanied by flu-like symptoms, most of the time mild and presents with a fever. However, we still have serious conditions with a lot of coughing and dyspnea. The flu, or influenza, in most cases is accompanied by flu-like symptoms and high fever”, explains the specialist.

For the infectious disease specialist, the vaccine is the way to make these diseases less and less serious, resembling a cold.

“Patients who develop seriously are generally those who are not vaccinated and have multiple comorbidities”, says Lis Regina.

Without much difference in symptoms, the description of the clinical picture is what characterizes the disease, hence the importance of health professionals always being trained.

Regarding dengue, the infectious disease specialist reinforces that both patients and specialists must be aware of warning signs such as abdominal pain, bleeding, persistent vomiting and inability to drink liquids, which can lead to a more serious illness.
