The short film “The Beautiful World”, made by Lucas Jorge, a 9th grade student at Escola Secundária Frei Heitor Pinto, in Covilhã, was selected to be shown at this year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most important in Seventh Art.
The film is one of 20 productions chosen by the international jury to be presented at the Alexandre III Theater, in that French city, among a total of 210 works that were in competition, from 32 countries. “The Beautiful World” is scheduled for May 16th. The distinction arises in the context of the UNESCO Associated Schools project, in which the Frei Heitor Pinto School Group participated in the International Competition “When Sound Creates Image”, which is now in its third edition.
