Deas after being sentenced to five years and six months in prison, Ruben Aguiar broke his silence on his Instagram page.
The artist shared part of his telephone call to the SIC program ‘Linha Aberta’, where they discussed his case, and confirmed that he “will appeal”.
“I demonstrated my regret and apologized to the victim several times in court. On SIC’s ‘Linha Aberta’ program, I clarified some situations. I inform everyone that yes, I will appeal“, he began by writing on the social network.
“The victim said at trial that he was already turned away and on the sidewalk when I allegedly attacked him falsely and this does not correspond to what the video conveys, nor to what happened. I’ve never attacked anyone, much less behind their back. I was at peace when I was approached by the victim, hugging and shouting in the middle of the road, I tried to move forward, bypassing the man, but he punched the bonnet of my car, stopping me from getting out of the car”, reported.
“I was tired from a few hours of sleep and a three-hour car journey, and I was scared. There is indeed a victim, which is not me and, as I said in court, I am willing to assume all the costs to help this gentleman who is in much better health“, he concluded.
