Santa Maria City Hall, through the Department of Housing and Land Regularization, carried out another delivery of license plates in Bairro Nova Santa Marta on Saturday afternoon (23). The initiative took place at the Unified Arts and Sports Center (CEU) Sandra Feltrin (Avenida Manoel Mallmann Filho, 161, Bairro Nova Santa Marta). On that occasion, 72 property registrations were delivered to residents of the region.

The license plates were delivered to the Concession of Real Right of Use (CDRU). The procedure transforms the centers into legalized areas and guarantees property, the social right to housing and also access to public services, promoting citizenship and quality of life for the population.

This edition included residents of seven villages that make up the Nova Santa Marta neighborhood. They are: December 7th, April 18th, October 10th, Alto da Boa Vista, Marista, Núcleo Central and Pôr-do-Sol. Each registration is part of a universe of more than 4,200 individual plots of land in the neighborhood.

“We are concluding the land regularization process in Nova Santa Marta, which is one of the largest land regularization processes ever recorded. There are approximately 4,250 individual plots of land within Nova Santa Marta. We have been making deliveries for around two years and, as this is a very significant number, we plan it in stages”, points out the Secretary of Housing and Land Regularization, Wagner Bitencourt.

Land regularization

The land regularization process includes legal, urban planning, environmental and social measures aimed at the inclusion of consolidated informal urban centers into the urban territorial order and the titling of their occupants.

With registration, the owner can sell or transfer the property with legal certainty, in addition to the property being able to participate in real estate financing and have greater added value. Once regularized, the site can also be expanded and renovated in accordance with the legislation, using all the benefits that it may bring to the owners.

People who have not yet received feedback on the registration delivery, who need to resolve issues relating to additional documentation or who are unable to attend this Saturday’s delivery, can collect the document at the Department of Housing and Land Regularization, at the Municipal Administrative Center (Rua Venâncio Aires, 2,277), on the ground floor, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
