More than 13 thousand teenagers between 10 and 14 years old were vaccinated against dengue until Friday (22). The number represents 28.7% of the target audience, defined by the Ministry of Health.

In the city, the vaccine is available from Monday to Friday, in the 104 vaccination rooms located between the headquarters and the rural area.

To be vaccinated, you must present an identity document, SUS card and vaccination booklet. However, children and adolescents will only be seen in the presence of their parents or guardian.

According to the coordinator of Epidemiological Surveillance, Carlita Correia, the increase in dengue cases in the municipality reinforces the importance of the community as a partner agent to prevent outbreaks, inspecting the house and not leaving standing water in open containers.

“Our entire team is committed to actions to combat mosquitoes. The health team has constantly participated in clinical management updates, we have implemented hydration tents in the units. We have seven units that vaccinate until 8:30 pm, in addition to using the headquarters of the Secretariat of Health as a point of vaccination. We ask for the collaboration of parents or guardians to take their children to health units to guarantee this protection against dengue”, he highlighted.

According to the epidemiological bulletin released this Friday (22), Feira registered 792 confirmed cases of dengue this year, 142 of which had warning signs, three were serious and one died. Among the places with the highest notifications of suspected cases are Humildes, Mangabeira and Tomba.
