Students and staff at Lili Neri School receive vaccination update effort

-

Last Friday, the 22nd, students and staff at Escola Lili Neri received the team from the School Health Program – PSE to update their vaccination records. Among the vaccines offered were vaccines against Influenza, HPV and Meningococcal ACWY 01. More than 90 doses were administered.

In the action, the PSE – which aims to contribute to the comprehensive training of students through promotion, prevention and health care actions – addressed the importance of vaccination against HPV. According to Elisângela Oliveira, a nurse, the vaccine prevents the emergence of serious diseases. “We also vaccinate adolescents, boys and girls aged 9 to 14, accompanied by their guardians against the HPV virus, as the vaccine will induce immunity when administered in this age group, in addition to protecting these adolescents against cervical cancer and vulva in women. It also protects against penile cancer and warts in men before the start of sexual activity”, he explains.

Going to the workplace and education is one of the strategies found to increase the number of people with vaccination coverage. For Elisângela, vaccination is still the best prevention strategy against diseases. “In the case of the influenza vaccine, we will be reducing complications, interventions and mortality from virus infections in the target population, where teachers are part of this population”, she concludes.
