Serra has already made more than 600 thousand medicines available to the population in 2024

The Medicine Supply Index in Serra reached almost 100%. This indicates regularity in the supply of stocks. Furthermore, this year more than half a million medications (684,765) have been dispensed by the municipal health network, an investment of more than R$8 million.

At the moment, Serra has a rate of 96.78%, a percentage higher than that recommended by the World Health Organization, which is 80%.

In 2024 alone, 278,900 patients have already been treated, around 30 thousand more people than in the same period in 2023. In total, there are 280 medicines available through acquisition from Serra City Hall itself.

Central Pharmacy

In Serra, citizens have access to medicines in pharmacies at health units and at the Central Pharmacy, an option on weekends for patients receiving care at Emergency Care Units (UPAs), at the Municipal Maternal and Child Hospital (HMMI) and in hospitals public.

The Central Pharmacy is open from Sunday to Monday, from 7 am to 7 pm, including holidays. The address is Rua São Pedro, in the courtyard of the Municipal Specialties Outpatient Clinic (Ames), in Jardim Limoeiro. The site carries out an average of 4,500 services per month.

To receive medicines in Serra, the resident must present the prescription issued by a professional from the Unified Health System (SUS), the SUS Card and their CPF.

Transparency

The Serra Health Department also makes the Medicine Stock of the Pharmacies of the Health Units available on the Serra City Hall website. The tool presents in detail the stock of medicines in each of the city’s 40 health units. Residents can search by the name of the health equipment and the name of the medication.

On the Serra City Hall website it is also possible to access the Municipal List of Essential Medicines (Remume), the State List of Essential Medicines (REMEME) and the medicines offered by the Ministry of Health through the “Aqui tem Farmácia Popular” Program, available in affiliated pharmacies and drugstores.
