Born in 2010 by Fernanda Checchinato, chemical engineer and scientist with a PhD from UFSC, PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the CNRS Laboratory at the University of Lyon (France), researcher at the Japan International Cooperation Agency, former professor at Senai CTC Criciúma and from UFSC and author of six technological innovation patents, Aya-Tech is the result of Fernanda’s entrepreneurial streak and her constant search for innovative and scientifically proven products to control diseases transmitted by insects – as is the case with Protec.

Created in 2015, Protec is the first repellent in the world certified in Brazil by Anvisa and was responsible for adding another layer of protection for the population in the fight against Aedes aegypti, as it made it possible to use a pioneering product for exclusive application. on fabrics and surfaces. Until then, people protected themselves by monitoring vases, tires and other objects with stagnant water (something we still do today, as they are potential breeding grounds for dengue mosquito larvae) and using repellents in cream or spray form. for the skin.

With the arrival of Protec, the safety barrier against the disease gained new proportions. Odorless, anti-allergic and harmless to humans, including children, the elderly and pregnant women, animals and the environment, Protec is applicable to t-shirts, caps, coats, throws, blankets, duvets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, curtains, carpets, sofas, socks , hair elastics and headbands, animal collars, uniforms, sneakers and clothing in general and even on mosquito nets, baby strollers, car seats, floors, walls, tiles, vases, door frames, windows, books, camping tents and boats. The applications are countless and can be done safely on any type of surface capable of absorbing the product’s active ingredients, with protection proven by laboratory tests for up to 60 days or 20 washes.

“Protec is the result of meticulous work that lasted five years and involved research and development with nanotechnology and our own resources. Protec is sustainable and there was nothing like it in the world before its launch – which is why I am very proud, in addition to undeniable scientific support, to categorically state that it is an exclusive creation of Aya-Tech, contrary to what say some competitors out there. Protec is pioneering, innovative and protects against the dengue mosquito, against insects that cause diseases such as yellow fever, Zika virus, Chikungunya, leishmaniasis and Guillain-Barré Syndrome and against urban pests that make people’s lives hell and cause allergies and others. skin pathologies, such as mites, moths, cockroaches, moths, ticks, lice, ants, fleas, black flies, black flies and flies”, says Fernanda.

Developed from a combination of chemical components with the natural compounds permethrin (active ingredient of the repellent, taken from the chrysanthemum flower) and water, Protec has the ability to repel insects because when a person wears clothing, socks or a cap , lies on a bed with sheets, pillowcases and blanket or sits on a sofa where Protec has been applied, the insect senses the active ingredient of the product and immediately moves away. If the perpetrator still insists on landing or passing close to the applied surface, he ends up absorbing the active ingredients and enters a state of paralysis and death. It is the so-called ‘knock-out’ effect, with devastating action on the dengue vector.

In addition to the flagship Protec with 1% active ingredients in a spray version, Aya-Tech has in its portfolio other innovative solutions developed with high technology by Fernanda Checchinato and team, such as the Bite Block aerosol repellent, which has 0. 5% active ingredients, protects against insects and can be easily carried in your bag or luggage on national and international flights, the Fly skin repellent, bactericides, fungicides and viricides for clothes, alcohol-free antiseptics for hands and body and the Gy line of slime-type children’s cosmetics that colors the child’s skin without causing any type of allergy or discomfort and encourages hygiene for little ones in a playful and fun way.

Currently, the company is also actively working on developing a repellent for application to leather and a product for shoes for people with epidermoliosis bullosa. All Aya-Tech beauty, health and wellness items are developed to the highest industry standards, are not tested on animals and are entirely vegan.

More information about Aya-Tech and its products and news is available on the website, and on social media Instagram and Facebook.
