The immunization sector of the Municipal Health Department confirmed that 1,471 doses of the influenza vaccine were administered in the first three days of the campaign (taking into account the optional point on Thursday and the national holiday on Friday) in the nine network stations. The groups that were most likely to seek out the service were the elderly and people with comorbidities. The National Campaign against Influenza, launched on March 25th, aims to prevent the most serious forms of respiratory infections before the cold arrives. The other priority groups being immunized are children between six months and six years of age, people with permanent disabilities, pregnant women and women who have recently given birth.
During regular hours, vaccination is taking place from Mondays to Fridays, from 7:15 am to 11:45 am and from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, at EAP Central, EAP Centro Social Urbano, EAP Marina, ESF Quinta da Boa Vista, ESF Carvalho, ESF Noêmia, ESF Barcelos, ESF Tupinambá and ESF Ponche Verde. Starting this Monday (01/04), the application of vaccines is being extended every Monday and Wednesday, from 4pm to 8pm, at the EAP Central, EAP Centro Social Urbano, EAP Marina units.
