In this Wednesday’s junior session (3), the young councilors of the Jaraguá do Sul City Council demonstrated their concern for public health by approving a request authored by Pietra Pardim. The request aims to invite a representative from the Municipal Health Department to participate in a plenary meeting, with a date to be defined, in order to discuss the dengue scenario in the city and measures to combat its spread.

Dengue fever, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes, has been a cause of increasing concern in Jaraguá do Sul, especially given the increase in recently reported cases. Recognizing the seriousness of this situation, Pietra emphasized the importance of education and prevention as fundamental tools to combat the spread of the disease in her community.

The request also highlights the crucial role played by the Municipal Health Department in implementing dengue prevention, monitoring and control strategies. For Pietra, the presence of a representative from this secretariat is considered essential to provide updated and accurate information about the current state of dengue in Jaraguá do Sul, as well as the measures in place to combat it.

The child also justified the request by stating that it is essential that members of the Child Chamber deeply understand the dengue situation in their municipality, in order to act in an informed and proactive manner in promoting public health. The expectation is that the presentation by the representative of the Municipal Health Department will provide valuable insights and enable young councilors to take effective measures to protect the community against the spread of dengue.
