Vinhedo releases dengue vaccine for…

-

Vaccination against dengue will be available from Monday (29) for children aged 10 to 14. The decision was taken by the Vinhedo Health Department, following recommendations from the Ministry of Health.

The vaccine stock received by Vinhedo has an expiration date of June 2024, which allows the age limit to be released gradually, unlike other municipalities.

It is mandatory to present a vaccination card and the child’s citizen card to receive immunization. If not, you must present the child’s vaccination card and the guardian’s citizen card or proof of residence to cross-reference information. There is no need to schedule an appointment.

The dengue vaccine is available from Monday to Friday, until 4pm, in the following Basic Health Units:

– UBS Planalto

– UBS Vila João XXIII

– UBS Três Irmãos

– UBS Casa Verde

– UBS Meirelles

– Medical Center

Observations about the vaccine:

– The teenager must be vaccinated and remain seated under observation for approximately 15 minutes after administration of the vaccine.

– For adolescents (from the first menstruation onwards) pregnancy must be avoided for at least one month after vaccination.

– The vaccine is contraindicated for people with symptomatic HIV infection or with asymptomatic HIV infection with compromised immune function, pregnant women, breastfeeding women, people undergoing cancer treatment and chemotherapy.

– After infection with the dengue virus, it is recommended to wait six months to start the vaccination schedule.

– In situations where infection occurs after the start of vaccination, there is no need to change the interval between the first dose and the second dose, as long as the second dose is not applied less than 30 days after the onset of the disease.
