Councilor Silvano Jr. (Republicans) wants City Hall to transform abandoned public land in Parque São Bento into a leisure area for residents of the region. Through a request approved in the last session of the Chamber, the parliamentarian requests the implementation of a walking trail, with public lighting, between Azel de Arruda and Alcindo de Oliveira Rosa streets in the aforementioned neighborhood.

The councilor was approached by residents of Parque São Bento, concerned about the accumulation of rubbish and debris and the tall grass that took over the area, attracting venomous animals such as scorpions, spiders and snakes, as well as possible breeding grounds for the dengue mosquito.

“Parque São Bento is the largest neighborhood in Sorocaba, with an estimated population of 100 thousand inhabitants, but it is the neighborhood that receives the least attention from public authorities in the field of sports and leisure. With a low investment from public authorities, this work will bring dignity and quality of life to the population of the neighborhood”, highlights the councilor.

In addition to the implementation of a walking trail with paving, lighting, and afforestation, Silvano Jr. is demanding the cleaning and maintenance of the area, urgently, due to the numerous cases of dengue fever and scorpion attacks that have been occurring in the neighborhood.
