Leandro was in Brazil and contracted dengue fever, as he himself explained to his followers. This Thursday, April 25th, the artist recorded a video to reassure his fans while he continues to recover.
“He’s still recovering. I was in Brazil for practically two weeks and on the last day, before I left, I started to have very high fevers”, he reported at the beginning, adding that he even had to return to Portugal because he had a concert scheduled in the Azores.
“Day after day things got worse, I continued to have a high fever, some symptoms started to appear and I ended up realizing that I had been bitten by the dengue bug”, he said. “[…] I ended up losing about five or six kilos”he highlighted.
Still, he managed to get on stage and perform in the Azores. Now he is at home recovering.
“I’m fine, calm, recovering. Here I have some spots spread across my body. My body still hurts a little, my joints, my appetite is still very reduced, my skin feels strange… This doesn’t stick, it’s a mosquito that bites us. Now we just have to recover. I hope that by next Monday I will be well enough to start rehearsals because we have a concert on the 11th and I hope that it will be at 200%”, he said.

As the SNS website explains, “dengue is a disease caused by a virus of the flavivirus genus that is lodged in the human body through the bite of a mosquito of the genus Aedes. Dengue is not transmitted from person to person, except from mother to child during pregnancy”.
