Next Thursday (2) the City of Guarulhos will begin a new stage of actions to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits diseases such as dengue, zika and chikungunya, which includes the elimination of possible breeding sites and nebulization in homes. The first neighborhoods served will be Jardim Rosa de França, Jardim Flor da Montanha and Jardim Ipanema.

For the correct application of preventive measures, residents must cooperate with professionals, allowing them to enter their homes when necessary. All personnel involved in the action will be properly uniformed and identified by badge; In addition, the list of employees can be consulted at the Zoonosis Control Center, by calling (11) 2436-3666.

The work consists of raising awareness about the mosquito’s reproductive cycle and precautions to prevent its reproduction, elimination of possible breeding sites and nebulization with Cielo-ULV insecticide, as long as climatic and environmental factors (such as rainfall, relief, vegetation) are observed, in addition to of epidemiological criteria, in accordance with guidance and authorization from the Ministry of Health for the elimination of the adult insect. Fogging is a complement to activities to combat dengue mosquitoes.

How to proceed during nebulization

The Cielo-ULV product is safe for people and pets as long as the following protective measures are taken during use:

– During the application of the insecticide, all occupants of the property and domestic animals must remain on the sidewalk on the other side of the street. Return to the property can take place after 30 minutes;

– Sick or bedridden people should stay in a room with closed doors and windows and remain there for 30 minutes after application. It is recommended to seal door and window gaps;

– Doors, windows and curtains must be kept open to facilitate the dispersion of the insecticide;

– Food, water and kitchen utensils must be stored in a closed or covered place, as well as clothes and sheets;

– Cars, bicycles and baby strollers must also be removed from the residence.
