Portal Prudentino – Prudente starts vaccination against dengue in young people aged 10 to 14

In Presidente Prudente, the dengue vaccine will be available from this Tuesday (7), in all health units. However, according to guidelines from the Ministry of Health and the State Department of Health, at this time the doses will be offered to young people aged between 10 and 14 years old.

The municipality received 3,184 doses of the vaccine. The vaccination rooms are open from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. On Saturdays, service is provided at the Family Health Strategy (ESF) in Vila Marcondes, from 9am to 3pm.

To receive the vaccine, residents must bring a document with photo and vaccination card.

Flu vaccination

Following new guidelines from the Ministry of Health, the Municipal Health Department expanded the number of people eligible to take the vaccine against Influenza, which causes the flu.

Now, the entire population over six months of age can be immunized against the flu virus. In Prudente, there are 28 service rooms.

To date, only a third (34%) of elderly people have received the dose. In relation to children, coverage is even lower, at 23%. Among pregnant and postpartum women, coverage is 19%.

26,748 vaccines were administered, which generally corresponds to 31% of the target audience in the city.
