The rain fell heavily this Sunday and caused flooding in Quarteira, in the Algarve.

Residents reported 15 minutes of heavy rainfall and damage has yet to be accounted for. On Rua Vasco da Gama, a garage was flooded, with a vehicle submerged inside.

This Sunday afternoon there were several requests for help due to the floods. Residents guarantee that floods are frequent at this time of year, and complain about the lack of cleaning of the sewers.

Firefighters are on site to handle the incident.

Forecasts point to the continuation of bad weather during this Monday, especially in the districts of Faro, Setúbal and Beja, which are under yellow warning.

Faro is the district where the most adverse weather conditions are expected, with precipitation and rain until 3 pm on Monday and a yellow warning for wind until 6 pm. Periods of rain or showers are expected, sometimes heavy, and accompanied by gusts of wind that can reach 70 km/h.

In Beja and Setúbal, the yellow warning is in effect until 3 pm.

In view of forecasts, Civil Protection warns that flooding may occur in urban areas.
