In the high season of 2023, Azores Airlines won the hearts of travelers, being the main choice in terms of airlines for those embarking on the archipelago. The positive results were revealed in the Azores Tourist Satisfaction Report for the season, recently published by the Azores Tourism Observatory.

With 64.57% of passengers expressing great satisfaction regarding the destination and the quality/price of air transport in the Azores, Azores Airlines was highlighted as the favorite.

Teresa Gonçalves, President of Grupo SATA, expressed her satisfaction, “It is with great satisfaction that we witness Azores Airlines standing out as the most sought after airline when planning a trip to the Azores. We are very honored with this distinction, which reflects the hard work and dedication we have been putting in to meet the expectations of those who choose to explore our Archipelago. SATA Group airlines are the reference when it comes to travel to the Azores and within the Archipelago, confirming, this survey, that passengers are satisfied with the service we offer”

In 2023, Azores Airlines and SATA Air Açores combined were responsible for transporting 2.4 million passengers, representing an increase compared to 2022. Azores Airlines, connecting the archipelago to abroad, recorded a notable growth of 33% in compared to the previous year and a surprising 52% compared to 2019, before the pandemic.

Azores Airlines stands out as the main airline offering vital connections to the Azores, connecting the archipelago to North America, Europe (including mainland Portugal), Madeira and Cape Verde. This year, the company will expand its routes, including destinations such as Milan and London, in addition to strengthening domestic connections, increasing travel options between Europe and North America.

SATA Group carriers play a fundamental role in the development of tourism in the Azores, ensuring essential connectivity to explore the different islands in an organized and comfortable way.
