“Nursing in the integration of careis the theme of the 1st Nursing Conference at ULS Algarve

To the 1st Nursing Days at the Algarve Local Health Unit (ULSALG), which will be subordinated to the theme “Nursing in care integration“, will take place on the 23rd and 24th of May and will take place in the auditorium of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), in Albufeira.

The event, aimed essentially at the nursing area, “aims to reflect on the current context of the organization of health care in the region, covering not only hospitals, but also all public health care units located in the 16 municipalities of the Algarve”, as the organization explains.

Furthermore, these days aim to “talk about nursing practices, highlighting their contributions to the integration of care, as well as giving visibility to the projects developed, in different areas, by nurses at ULS. It will also be a space that aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and mobilization of skills in decision-making, allowing the continuous improvement of nursing care”.

The organization of the event highlights that on the first day the sessions will address themes, organized according to the life cycle, where the practices of Primary Health Care and Hospital Health Care are complemented from an integrative perspective of nursing care.

In turn, projects will be presented that reflect some of the contributions of nursing in the areas of maternal and obstetric, child and pediatric health and mental health, and also in the management of chronic disease, disease prevention and health promotion.

On the second day, dedicated to the professionals themselves, best practices for the promotion and prevention of nurses’ health will be discussed, addressing topics such as violence against professionals and the role of occupational health, complemented by a space dedicated to the dynamics group meetings and workshops, in order to provide moments of fraternization among nursing professionals.

There will also be space for the presentation of communications and/or posters, allowing the involvement of more nurses and the dissemination of more practices, providing opportunities for learning and sharing knowledge, as revealed by the organization in a statement.
