The 9th edition of the Tourism Trade Show took place on March 12th, an event promoted by the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School – EHTA and which brings together students and all agents and entities linked to Tourism
For many students, this is a great opportunity to make themselves known to major employers in the region, just a few months away from starting the curricular internships that will occupy them during the next summer.
For companies in the Tourism sector, this is the first contact with those who will soon be the latest “generation” of professionals in this industry.
A note from the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School states that in this year’s edition, the Tourism Trade Show Algarve was attended by around 3 dozen companies, including the largest hotel groups in the Algarve region.
The EHTA emphasizes that in its genesis, the Tourism Trade Show Algarve “is an event with unique characteristics considering that it is organized by the students themselves”. This year, the 2nd semester Tourism Management course led the operationalization of the event. The welcoming and reception of guests was the responsibility of students from the Hotel and Accommodation Management course, also attending the 2nd semester.
For the management of the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, this event, which takes place every year, can be decisive for the students’ future: «The Tourism Trade Show is a true bridge between supply and demand, between companies and the operational future of the Hotel and Tourism Industry. It is always with enormous pride and satisfaction that we revisit this decisive moment in the professional choice of our students», says Paula Vicente, director of the school.
