It is this Monday (April 29th) that the usual academic parade in Viseu takes place. Higher education students will ‘invade’ the city in a procession that will cause several traffic constraints from noon onwards.

The academic parade will cover Avenida 25 de Abril, Rua Gaspar Barreiros, Rua D. António Alves Martins, Rotunda da Santa Cristina, Avenida Capitão Silva Pereira, Rotunda de Santo António, Avenida dos Capitães and Largo da Feira Semanal.
The PSP of Viseu assures that, to guarantee the safety of those who will be in the procession, restrictions on movement will be implemented.

Between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm, several streets and avenues will have traffic restrictions and restrictions due to the procession that brings together higher education students in the region. These arteries are Rotunda Paulo VI, Avenida 25 de Abril, Rua Alexandre Herculano, Rua Bernardo Pais de Almeida, Rua Nuno Álvares Pereira, Rua José de Oliveira Berardo, Rua Dr. António Esteves Correia, Rua João de Deus and Avenida Infante D. Henrique.

Rua Mendonça, Rua Calouste Gulbenkian, Rotunda do Rossio, Rua Gaspar Barreiros, Largo General Humberto Delgado, Rua D. António Alves Martins, Rua Cimo de Vila, Rua do Serrado, Avenida Monsenhor Celso Tavares da Silva, Rua 5 will also be affected. de Outubro, Rotunda da Santa Cristina, Avenida Capitão Silva Pereira, Rua das Bocas, Rua Maria do Céu Mendes, Rotunda do Santo António, Avenida Emídio Navarro, Avenida dos Capitães, Rua do Arco and Largo Major Monteiro Leite.

As an alternative and since access to the city center will be quite restricted, the PSP advises using the entire Circunvalação. The police appeal to the population to follow the agents’ instructions along the route and watch the parade away from the roadside and without interfering with people’s movement.

The security force also reminds that circulation on the closed roads “is strictly prohibited, regardless of the reason (even logistical operations such as supplying establishments, delivering orders, etc.)”.
