On the 27th of March, Vila Real will once again experience the emotions of Christ’s passion, with the presentation of another edition of Via Dolorosa, a Municipality initiative that is part of the Holy Week program and which this year is being prepared with the involvement of the entire community.
Therefore, this year the dramatization of Via Dolorosa will feature amateur protagonists, from the parishes of the municipality. All the preparatory work was developed in close coordination with the Boards and the support of Filandorra – Teatro do Nordeste and the Marco Aurélio Choirs, which toured the entire territory with the aim of recruiting volunteers to star in this dramatization, whose rehearsals are already underway. It is worth highlighting the strong support of the residents of Vila Real who enthusiastically responded to this challenge from the local authority, as well as many associations, namely the four philharmonic bands and the scout groups, who also did not want to be left out of this great event.
“We understand that the democratization of culture is also achieved through the direct involvement of citizens and the associative movement, giving them the opportunity to actively participate in the cultural life of our municipality”, said Councilor for Culture, Mara Minhava.
