Air Baltic, Latvia’s flag carrier, will start flying to Madeira from October 28th with direct flights from Riga, Latvia.

In a statement sent to the newsroom, the company states that this will be the first time that it will operate regular flights to and from Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport.

“We are excited to announce this new route and soon connect Madeira to the vibrant city of Riga – the home of airBaltic. We see great potential in this route and are pleased to offer local travelers the opportunity to visit and experience this jewel of the Baltics,” says airBaltic’s Thomas Ramdahl.

Francisco Pita, CCO of ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal | VINCI Airports, highlights the fact that this regular direct flight “reinforces Madeira’s positioning as a year-round tourist destination, being the result of the excellent work we have developed with all our partners to develop connectivity in the region.”

Three weekly flights will be operated on this route, offering passengers two classes of service – Economy Class and Business Class. The first flight between the two cities is scheduled for October 28, 2024 and tickets are now available for purchase on the company’s home page www.airbaltic.com.

Flights between Madeira and Riga will be operated by Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
