Aljustrel City Council will mark World Tree Day and will involve young and old in a planting action that will reach the entire municipality.
Next Thursday, the 21st, the day on which the anniversary is celebrated, the morning will be dedicated to the educational community and fruit trees and shrubs will be planted on school grounds. The objective is to educate children and young people about the importance of sustainability and environmental preservation.
On Thursday afternoon, at Parque Mineiro de Aljustrel, more trees, of various species, and shrubs will also be planted, contributing to the environmental requalification of the area and the beautification of this place.
In this action, in turn, students who attend the Senior University of Aljustrel will participate, bringing their wisdom and teachings to the local community, in an activity that also aims to raise awareness of the importance of the topic and the inclusion and accountability of everyone.
On Friday, the 22nd, the plantation will reach the different educational establishments in the parishes of the Municipality of Aljustrel, involving all children who attend schools outside the municipality.
This initiative by Aljustrel City Council also aims to contribute to the promotion of a greener and more ecological territory and to the creation of memories associated with the theme.
