Visits to the Faro/Loulé/Olhão Transfer Station and the Portimão Landfill
Algar, Recovery and Treatment of Waste, Solids, SA (Algar, SA), promotes the initiative Open doors, next Saturday, March 23rd, in a joint action by Grupo Empresa Geral do Fomento, SA (EGF). The visits allow citizens to learn about the processes related to the collection and recovery of urban waste with the aim of bringing local communities closer to treatment plants.
Titled EGF Open Doors, this initiative is aimed at the general population, who have the possibility of delivering, at the Faro/Loulé/Olhão Transfer Station (Barros de São João da Venda, 8135-026, Almancil) and at the Portimão Landfill (Chão Frio, Porto de Lagos, 8500-800 Portimão) recyclable waste and deposit it in recycling bins. At EGF Open Doors It will be possible to learn about the work carried out by the Algar, SA teams, from waste treatment to recovery.
On this day, companies in the EGF Group they will be open at the same time, in a clear commitment, to presenting the process to which waste is subjected. The experience includes guided visits to Sorting Units, Organic Recovery Units, Landfills, Transfer Stations and Ecocenters and Energy Recovery Centers, so that it is possible to understand what happens to waste after being placed in the respective containers, demystifying myths about recycling and also clarify the rules for waste separation.
