More than 6 million for affordable housing projects in Nelas: Gazeta Rural

The Cooperation Protocol “Affordable housing projects in Viseu Dão Lafões” was recently signed between CIM Viseu Dão Lafões and the Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation – IHRU, which provides for the provision of 569 houses for rent at affordable costs. in the Region, with a total investment of around 90 million euros, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR).

The municipality of Nelas was allocated an amount of more than six million euros, for the rehabilitation of public buildings and acquisition for rehabilitation, as part of this important strategy to combat difficulties in accessing housing in the region and which represents a crucial measure of support for families that cannot find an answer in the traditional market, due to incompatibility between their income and the rent values ​​practiced.

The works are expected to take place between 2024 and 2025, with the signing of lease contracts taking place by June 2026, with the provision of several homes at affordable costs, a response to the current difficulties that families experience in accessing housing and which contributes to the settlement of the population, particularly in the Municipality of Nelas.
