The Chamber of Castro Verde almost tripled the execution of community funds within the scope of the integrated territorial investments of the Alentejo 2020 Program, reaching final values that amount to 4,149,738 euros.
With these amounts, the Castro Verde municipality becomes the second in the Baixo Alentejo Intermunicipal Community with the highest execution, with only Moura executing more.
In a note, the Municipality emphasizes that this financing involved equity capital exceeding 1.8 million euros, to ensure the national counterpart, executing, in total, more than 6.1 million euros, only within the scope of integrated territorial investments (ITI ).
«Initially having an allocation of 1,677,998 euros, this significant result in execution demonstrates that the Municipality of Castro Verde had the capacity to almost triple the execution of community funds within the scope of the ITI», the note reads.
The renovation work at the Castro Verde Secondary School contributed greatly to this performance, but also the interventions to improve energy efficiency in municipal swimming pools and various operations in the area of culture, municipal museums, heritage or reducing school dropouts.
«This result is the result of the important effort of City Council employees who, in different areas, worked to achieve such an important execution. Only in this way was it possible to provide good answers to the entire population of Castro Verde, giving expressive compliance with what was established in the City Council’s Plan Options since 2018″, concludes the executive led by José António Brito.
