He began his trade union activity in 2015, as a union delegate at the Group of Health Centers (ACES) Oeste Sul and member of the regional secretariat of the Independent Union of Doctors (SIM) of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo.
Yesterday, at the XIV national SIM congress, which took place in Peniche, Nuno Rodrigues was elected general secretary of the organization, which he now leads, succeeding Jorge Roque da Cunha.
According to a note released by SIM, Nuno Rodrigues presented a continuity program, focusing on defending the medical career and the National Health Service.
Since the creation of the Local Health Unit (ULS) of the West, on January 1st of this year, the new general secretary of SIM has been a Public Health doctor in this unit.
Between 2014, he was a Public Health doctor at ACES Oeste Sul, also in the district of Leiria.
From 2014 to 2022 he also took on the role of health delegate at ACES Oeste Sul.
He is 41 years old and is from Porto.
Nuno Rodrigues graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, specialized in Public Health in 2013 and, nine years later, obtained the degree of Consultant. He also completed a Postgraduate Degree in Management and Administration of Health Units, from the Instituto Superior de Gestão e Administração, in Santarém.
