CCP says it expects that “the objectives of encouraging economic growth expressed by the two main parties will remain alive throughout the next legislature”

The Confederation of Commerce and Services of Portugal (CCP) highlighted the importance of stability for business activity, stating that the electoral results point to a situation that will not be “obviously the most desirable” for companies.

“For companies, which prefer stability and predictability to pursue their activity, this will obviously not be the most desirable situation”, stated the president of the CCP, João Vieira Lopes, in reaction to the results of Sunday’s legislative elections, in note sent to Lusa.

According to the CCP, everything indicates that, for there to be fiscal changes or changes to the State Budget, without a significant parliamentary majority, “there will necessarily have to be specific agreements or majority commitments which, depending on the new parliamentary framework, will most likely be of variable geometry in function of the proposals being approved”.

The CCP says it expects that “the objectives of encouraging economic growth expressed by the two main parties will remain alive throughout the next legislature and that solutions will be found that allow the economy to develop and in particular to recover several delays in the implementation” of European funds. , namely the Recovery and Resilience Plan and Portugal 20/30.

João Vieira Lopes also argues that open matters in existing agreements must be implemented in the Permanent Commission for Social Coordination.
