The new direction of the Torrejanos Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association (AHBVT) took office on March 21st for the 2023/2025 mandate.

Upon his inauguration, the new president of the board, Gonçalo Pereira, began by thanking all the members who actively participated in the elections on March 16, and the outgoing board, for the civic manner in which they faced this electoral process.

Gonçalo Pereira said that you can expect work and dedication from this new management team, who will try to maintain all existing relationships with the various entities that AHBVT works with, trying whenever possible to improve existing synergies.

“We count on everyone to return peace and tranquility to such a noble association”, he said.

It should be noted that AHBVT has experienced a climate of internal turmoil in recent months. It is hoped that these elections will put an end to the climate of conflict that has been affecting the corporation, founded 92 years ago, and which currently has around 100 firefighters for several months. In February, management resigned en masse alleging collusion against its restructuring project, and a climate of intimidation that culminated in the call for a General Assembly of dismissal.
