New airport: final report is already in the hands of the prime minister

-

After 60 years of studies, the final report of the Independent Technical Commission on the new Lisbon airport reached the Government, a decision that António Costa will pass on to Luís Montenegro.

“One of the things we heard and that everyone must have heard is that he [António Costa] He is very sorry for not being the decision maker because he has a very solid basis for making the decision”, revealed Maria do Rosário Partidário, from CTI.

Asked to comment on the statements made by the prime minister-designate, Luís Montenegro, who guaranteed that the decision will be taken “in the first days” of Government, the person responsible concluded: “I have no reason not to believe it.”

Regarding the fear that the new prime minister will be susceptible to pressure from ANA, Carlos Mineiro Aires, president of the Monitoring Committee, said that “I would like to put an end to this issue”, now that they have delivered the final report.

“I’m not interested in feeding” the topic any further, although he admitted that pressure permeability “was a possibility.”

CTI published on March 11th the final report of the strategic environmental assessment of the new airport, maintaining the recommendation for a unique solution in Alcochete or Vendas Novasbut pointed out that Humberto Delgado + Santarém “could be a solution”.

The final report is available on the aeroparticipa.pt page.
