To mark World Theater Day in 2024 — this Wednesday, March 27th —, TAGV promotes guided behind-the-scenes tours. It is an opportunity to get to know various theater spaces that, usually,
are not open to the public and to better understand how this unique space in the country works. The projection booth, where it is possible to see how the films were prepared for screening, still on film; the new green room, in which it is possible to try on different costumes, or even the substage, in which truly rare pieces of stage machinery are hidden – are some of the passing points of these visits, in which you can also hear the traditional message of the Day World Theater.
The visit, led by the theater director, Sílvio Correia Santos, is also an opportunity to learn more about TAGV’s programming. During the visits, the World Theater Day message will be read, written this year by Jon Fosse, a Norwegian playwright awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in October 2023.
